DACHSER is expanding premium charter flight rotation

DACHSER Air & Sea Logistics is starting the next wave of its charter flight rotation service to China and back. The charter route has initially been scheduled to operate from mid-March to the end of the month. From 21 March, DACHSER USA will also be adding a new route between Chicago and Frankfurt to its existing charter service.

National Strike in France - Effects

During the past weeks, massive strikes against a planned pension reform have paralysed public transport in France. The strike is still going on this week.

French ports already impacted by days of strike are getting congested. Alternative options like Antwerp, Genoa or Barcelona are getting congested as well, therefore delays on bookings and pick up/delivery with those ports are expected.

Here is an overview of the duration of the strike activity in the French ports:

  • Dunkerque: dockers/stevedores 23/01 & 24/01; tugboats 22/01 to 25/01 until 6 am
  • Le Havre: dockers/stevedores 22/01 to 25/01 until 6 am; tugboats 24/01 to 25/01 until 8 am
  • Montoir: dockers/stevedores 22/01 to 25/01 until 6 am; tugboats 21/01 to 24/01 until 9 am
  • FOS: dockers/stevedores 22/01 to 25/01 until 6 am; tugboats 20/01 to 23/01 until 9 am

Pick-up and delivery by rail should be also very difficult. Airfreight is not concerned so far, but we will keep you informed about that.

DACHSER names new management for European Logistics Germany and European Logistics North Central Europe

DACHSER has named Claus Wetzel (44) as the new head of its European Logistics Germany business unit, effective January 1, 2026. He succeeds Andreas Fritsch (63), who has overseen DACHSER’s transport and storage business for industrial and consumer goods in Germany since January 1, 2023.
The European Logistics North Central Europe business unit will be headed by Florian Zehetleitner (46) as of January 1, 2026. He succeeds Wolfgang Reinel (62), who has been responsible for the business unit since 2014.
